Abstract
In computers, there are many interactions with one-dimensional operations such as scrollbars. However, these actions do not provide tactile feedback, making precise manipulation difficult. The development of a tangibles user interface has made it possible to manipulate information in the information space using natural objects, which is intuitive and easy for humans to understand and operate. In this study, we propose a system that enables users to experience the weight or lightness of information by changing the magnetic field using a coil and a neodymium magnet, compared to one-dimensional movement on a computer. In this paper, we investigate how much tactile sensation we can experience by using a coil and a neodymium magnet.
